Into the Woods We Go!
Asce walked methodically through the dark forest, keeping an even pace. His friend, the Kali he named Bean, wandered with him as he did so. The little creature was running around exploring, not particularly looking for any clues. Asce didn’t mind, though, as the little one was simply too sweet to care. He paused for a moment to try and take in as much light as he could for his surroundings. This forest was difficult to navigate - the lack of sun to guide his direction made him feel strange and lost. Typically, he was good with forests. He traveled a lot, and it was only natural for him. But this place was strange, and he felt almost as if he was being watched. As he scanned around, he noticed a few small indications of someone passing through. His hunting training from when he was younger told him to check it out. There were a few plants with gently broken pieces, as if one had come through in a hurry recently.
Checking behind him for Bean before carrying on, Asce began to look for the direction that the creature had gone. It wasn’t a typical small animal that usually ran through these woods, but he hoped - based on the size - that it was only an enivi. He took a deep breath and began to push forward the way he determined, carefully following the path, keeping an eye out for those glowing bits he had been warned of. But still, the darkness endured, and the only other creature he could hear barreling around was Bean. Bean would catch the scent of a predator before Asce did, he realized. He let himself relax a bit and take a deep breath, watching the little cat play peacefully. Soon, he felt safe carrying on. As he walked, a tree caught his eye. Examining it, he moved in close, hoping his soul was enough light to get some detail on it. Thankfully, he was able to determine that these were indeed antler marks - the sign he was looking for. He felt a little bit of hope well inside him as he looked around for the next marker, spotting it a few lengths away. He clicked gently at the cat to get his attention before indicating the way they would be moving. Bean seemed to understand enough to begin heading that way, so Asce followed him. From tree to tree, the pair looked around for clues to the path. Soon, Asce was confidently navigating, rather than based on his not-often-used tracking skills. He hoped this would be worth it…
Woo! Off on an adventure!
