A deep sea visitor.
It was early in the morning and the sun was high in the sky. Abedul, a pretty calm Ortusi, decided to go to the beach for a day full of tranquility and relaxation. For a being like him, the song of the tides were enough to keep him distracted from things that might be too stressful for his liking. He wasn't an Ortusi that liked noisy places, nor did he enjoy talking with others that much, so his only paradise, his true beloved home, were the shores of this land. The cool breeze carried by the sea, the lullabies this salty water sang every few seconds and the company of those birds that many Enivi found annoying, all those simple things made him feel happy to be here.
At first, when he arrived at the destination, Abedul just sat on the sand. Even though it was still early in the day, it was already warm, meaning that the sun wasn't going to be gentle later that day. He just watched the waves move towards him, and then retreat back into the safety of the depths.
He stayed there a couple of minutes, until he started to realize the heat of the day was actually rising. Abedul stood up, leaving his silhouette engraved in the sand for the tide to wash later, and started walking around the beach. The breeze of the beach wasn't helping much, and the day was starting to feel suffocating, so he did what every Enivi would do in this situation. Swim.
This Ortusi wasn't known for being a great swimmer, so he tried to stick as close as he could to the shore in case anything went wrong. The water felt cool and refreshing around his body, and his body felt light as a feather with the saltiness of the tides helping him float. This. Was. The. Best.
That is until he felt something swim by his side. Abedul, at first, didn't see anything.
Perhaps it was just a curious fish?
He wrongly thought, continuing his swim filled with serenity. Not long after that mysterious feeling, the same sensation repeated itself. Abedul, now more alert, look around searching for anything that might be swimming o floating nearby, and then he saw it. A fin. A misterious fin that sent shivers down his spine.
Is that... A shark?!
He had no time to think. His legs, filled with an instinct for survivability, moved fast and got him out of the sea. As the Ortusi found safety in the beloved warm sand, a strange noise appeared behind him. The obvious sound that someone, or something, emits when swimming. He turned around, even though he was scared, Abedul had to see what it was. There's no way he was running back home without knowing exactly what happened and why it happened.
He saw the fin, obviously, and a large silhouette under the water. That shadow, slightly warped by the waves and natural movement of the tide, has two bright eyes that could be seen from above, and a noticeable, long hair.
That was definetly not a shark. That wasn't a dolphin either, nor an eel of some kind. If it wasn't any of that, what was it, then? He didn't know of any aquatic creature that could have that long of a hair. That long, big body that could be somewhat seen from the bay was definetly not fish like...
Wait... What is that?
That shadow had, indeed a tail. A huge one. And to make things worse, it had the tail of a fish. What. Is. This?!
"What... What are you...?"
Abedul whispered to himself. He didn't exactly expected the mysterious creature to answer him, but the question was too much for him to keep it locked in the head. As if the creature understood, it moved. It didn't get out of the water, nor did it give any sort of clues to the Ortusi. It simply moved in the water, showing off its weird, long shadow. After a minute or two, the novements ceased and the silhouette was gone. Abedul wasn't planning on getting into the water to check, but he sure was certain of something.
The head of a Enivi, the tail of a fish. This creature... Could it be related to us?
abedul goes to the beach and finds a strange creature!
My first language is not english, but I tried my best. Please enjoy!
