The Enivi are an enigmatic and fantastical race, each a confluence of wondrous traits that make them singular and remarkable. Though each herd bears similarities, their individuality sets them apart from their kin. With the exception of those few altered by arcane forces, Enivi possess a majestic set of hooves, horns, fangs, scales, and a visible soul, the latter typically nestled between their horns.

What's more, they wield a peculiar talent to manipulate their pupils like cats, opening or closing them to let in the right amount of light.

The eyes of the Enivi are a sight to behold, arresting in their uniqueness. Born with slit pupils, they also manifest in an array of forms, from round to horizontal, and even none at all.

Their hooves are just as extraordinary, ranging from solid, horse-like hooves to cloven ones. Yet, some Enivi boast a set of hooves that gleam with the magic of the elements, be it ice, stardust, or chocolate.

Their fangs too are a feast for the eyes, fashioned in different shapes and sizes, from long, curving tusks to small, pointed snaggle teeth. Although some Enivi warriors have wielded their fangs in battle, they are primarily an adornment, much like their scales. In today's world, these traits serve more as a statement of style than purpose.

Despite sharing some traits, every Enivi herd has its own unique qualities that set them apart. It is therefore advised that one explore the bios of each herd to learn more about each of these captivating creatures and their individual charms.

Magic

From the moment of their birth, every Enivi possesses a natural, almost instinctual connection to the enchantments that permeate their world. Such connections, ranging from the ability to forecast changes in the weather to the power of summoning potent elemental spells, set these wondrous creatures apart from all others. Some have even been known to communicate with animals or form unique bonds with plant life.

But it is their connection to magic that is perhaps the most intriguing of all. The natural magic that courses through their very veins is so potent that it takes form as a glowing orb, a shimmering reflection of their soul, that hovers outside their body. Resting between their antlers or at the tip of their horn, this radiant orb serves as a constant reminder of the Enivi's profound bond with the world around them and with one another.

To hone their craft and refine their magical abilities, many Enivi embark on a pilgrimage through the verdant lands and jagged mountains, venturing forth in search of the legendary Drukworth Academy of Arcane Arts. Here, they are instructed in the art of magic and spellcasting, seeking to unlock new and ever-more wondrous abilities that will take them to the very limits of their potential.

Diet

In this age of tranquility, the Enivi herds have found themselves in a state of mutual aid, sharing their bounties with one another regularly and in times of need.

The Ortusi have been known to trade their prized spices for the Lunaesi's catch of the day, while the Vespiri offer their oceanic delights and an abundance of exotic fruits. These exchanges strengthen the bonds between the herds, each bringing their unique flavors to the table.

Though each herd has its own culinary inclinations, all Enivi are omnivorous, with a taste for both greens and meat. Although individuals may have their own tastes, there do seem to be preferences amongst each herd.

While the Ortusi lean towards a vegetable-based diet with occasional indulgences in fish or red meat, the Lunaesi thrive on a high-protein fresh water fish regimen. As for the Vespiri, despite the varied options at their disposal, they remain loyal to their seafood bias. The Druaesi, ever the enigmatic ones, hold a preference for red meat and insects, shunning vegetables with a steadfastness that is uniquely their own.

Life Cycle

In the realm of enchantment, Enivi are creatures of unparalleled wonder.

Their origin, borne of magic rather than biological means, is a testament to the mysticism that pervades their existence.

When two or three Enivi wish to bring forth new life, they merge their magical essence with that of a Mystic Lily, creating a child. These newborns, referred to as "kids", lack any discernible traits of their respective herds. Only when they are taken to the temple and blessed by their deity, which typically occurs on the very day of their birth, do their unique features begin to manifest.  Each herd boasts a distinctive coming-of-age ritual or trial, marking the moment when an Enivi is deemed an adult and embarks on a quest for purpose and place in the world. 

Enivi have been known to live for well over a century, with exceptional individuals even exceeding that span.  Upon death, an Enivi's soul separates from its corporeal vessel. Vesper, the deity who oversees their well-being, dispatches a member of the Vespiri to locate and return the soul to its temple, where it will be tenderly cared for until its final journey beyond the veil, and its return home to Vesper.
